Welcome to the Volunteer Portal! This is your go-to hub for everything you need as a South Portland Food Cupboard volunteer. Here you’ll find our volunteer bulletin board, SignUpGenius links to schedule your shifts, important updates from the team, helpful resources, and more. Be sure to check back regularly for the latest information and opportunities to get involved.

The bulletin board is where we share important announcements, upcoming events, seasonal reminders, and other need-to-know updates for our volunteer team. Updates from the Team
Parking Update

Thank you so much to anyone and everyone who chooses to park out front and walk to the back. Would you do us a favor and just park in the spots behind the sign? Some of our facility neighbors use the front parking area for their customers.

Volunteers Needed

We have a special request for support over the next two weeks. We have an unusually high number of volunteers out, and we want to ensure pantry operations continue seamlessly for the neighbors who rely on us!

Feb 22nd, 2026- Feb 28th, 2026

 

March 1st 2026- March 7th 2026

Additionally, we are currently seeking volunteers to join our food rescue team as Van Drivers and Helpers. We are especially looking for individuals who are willing to be trained on multiple food rescue routes or who can commit to serving as a part of a recurring monthly team.

 

Van drivers assist with the safe collection and transportation of donated food from local partners to the South Portland Food Cupboard, while helpers support with loading, unloading, and organizing donations. No prior experience is required.

 

Requirements:
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
• Age 25 or older
• Clean driving record (required for drivers)
• Availability for at least one shift per week

You're Invited to Our Grand Opening! 
 

Join us as we celebrate a new chapter for SPFC at our Grand Opening + Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! A more official invitation will arrive in your email, but for now, we hope you save the date and the following information!:

 

📅 Thursday, March 19
⏰ 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
✂️ Official ribbon cutting at 4:00 PM

 

This event is free and open to the public.

We will gather for welcome remarks, hear from community partners, and officially cut the ribbon at 4:00 PM. Afterward, guests are invited to:

  • Enjoy guided tours of the facility

  • Learn more about how SPFC is expanding access to food with dignity

  • Connect with our leadership

  • Refreshments and a grazing table will be provided.

🚗 Parking details will be shared soon. A shuttle will be provided within the parking lot.
