Food Distribution Schedule and Guidelines

Please note: you may ONLY pick up for your family.

Thursdays

8:30 am – 11:00 am 

Recipients may come once a month to this distribution

 

Distribution Process Overview

 

We are using a system similar to the Hannaford-To-Go process.

  1. Check-In: Recipients should first locate the Check-In Table.

  2. Order Forms: At Check-In, recipients will receive two order forms—one for perishables and one for non-perishables.

  3. Form Submission: Once the forms are filled out, return them to the Check-In Table.

  4. Order Fulfillment: Volunteers will fill the orders based on the completed forms.

  5. Vehicle Loading: When the order is ready, recipients will be asked to bring their vehicles to the Loading Area.

  6. Loading: Our volunteers will load the orders into the recipients' vehicles. Recipients, please stay in your vehicle during loading.

10:00 am – 11:30 am
Recipients may come any and every Tuesday to this distribution

 

New Guidelines for Tuesday Distribution

  • Recipients may come early and put a bag in line. Recipients must stay on Thadeus street until numbers are given out.

  • At 7:00 am we will begin giving out numbers. 

  • We encourage you to leave the area and come back no later than 9:30 am to line up at 9:45 am.

  • Failure to return at line up may result in forfeiture of place in line

  • Please line up in numerical order by the number you received

  • After the initial lineup, numbers will be given out until 10:30 am

  • After 10:30 am please form a line at the right-hand side of the tent

5:00 – 6:30 pm for recipients who work or are unable to come on Thursday.

  • South Portland residents only

  • Must be screened in advance through the SPFC

Transportation

We are able to provide a complimentary ride home for South Portland Residents ONLY who are without transportation. You may have up to 4 rides/month.  These rides are limited to Tuesday and Thursday Food Distribution times.  Rides are direct from the South Portland Food Cupboard (130 Thadeus Street) to said Recipient’s home address.  There are no other stops permitted.  

 

Recipients are asked to call the SPFC (207-874-0379) and register for these rides at least 24 hours in advance.
